The ARS method is taught in masterclasses which are held on a regular basis in Italy and abroad.
They are aimed at singing students, professional singers and singing teachers.
All masterclasses are always held in presence and only in exceptional cases, online.
The ARS masterclasses address every aspect of singing: vocal technique, breathing, interpretation, posture, diction, acting, psychological approach to performance, vocal hygiene, performance stress, advice for choosing a repertoire, starting a career or managing it.
With the training course, you learn the secrets of the ARS method and identify the vocal, physical or mental resistances that prevent the free flow of singing; simultaneously you get Voice Reset for effortless singing.
Each masterclass ends with a concert accompanied by the piano and, only in some cases, by the orchestra.
The concerts are all semi-staged; expect the presence of the public and opera agents or managers, based on their availability.
The performance is filmed with an audio-video recording, then delivered free of charge to the singers, for their personal use.
Silvia Colombini has held many masterclasses on the ARS method from 2008 to 2021 in Italy and abroad, among which we mention: masterclass at the Palazzina Liberty in Milan for the Crossover Fridays cycle, organized by Milano Classica, MIBACT, SIAE, Musicmedia s.r.l. and Circuito Musica s.r.l.s.; Workshop for the Ottavanota/Cantoalato Opera Academy, Milan. ARS participates in the Alloro project, an innovative pilot project that represents a precious Italy-China cultural exchange, a collaboration between Italian and Chinese conservatories. Alloro offers a study program that allows Chinese students of singing, but also of other musical disciplines, to be able to receive online singing lessons and to prepare for the entrance exams in Italian conservatories by receiving complete and high-quality linguistic and musical training profile.
The project site: Progetto Alloro
After the first official presentation of ARS in China in 2011 at the Tongij University of Shanghai, the ARS method has been very successful in China and masterclasses have followed in this country until 2019. The method has thus been enriched with many specifically designed solutions for Chinese opera singers who have beautiful voices but often encounter difficulties with the Italian language.
Taking advantage of her long teaching experience in China, Silvia Colombini thus conceived the Alloro Project, of which she is the artistic director, entrusting its implementation to the Rise up school of Chinese language and culture.
The Alloro project offers one more possibility to Chinese singing and music students who dream of studying in Italy and face the limited places offered by the Turandot Project.
The pilot project starts with an official collaboration with the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory of Como but could be extended to other conservatories. The Alloro Program offers a certificate of completion, instrumental training, music theory and analysis, instrument/vocal lessons taught by top-level professors, voice lessons taught by Silvia Colombini, in-depth exchanges with renowned teachers in a professional teaching space and with the assistance of interpreters, Chinese teaching assistants and much more.
The real novelty of the project is the possibility of being followed by both Italian and Chinese tutors, not only for learning the Italian language, but also for learning musical notions, singing or instrumental lessons.
