Soprano Silvia Colombini has performed on the main international stages.
She graduated in violin and opera.
Over the years, she has become an innovative artist, gaining the title of “performing arts soprano” who creates new formats of concerts.
She is also a vocal re-stylist, creator of the innovative singing method ARS “Art of Overcoming Resistances”, taught in Milan and in international masterclasses.
Finally, she is a music consultant for international festivals and singing competitions.
ORIGIN – She was born in Rome into a family that belongs to the history of the Italian Opera, counting on ancestors who were commended singers by Verdi and Puccini.
BACKGROUND – She began studying music at the age of five. At first, she was a professional violinist, then thanks to Edita Gruberova she discovered her natural soprano voice. Graduated in Violin and Opera, she won three international singing competitions. She made her debut in Vienna in 1999.
EXPERIENCE – She acquired a great experience performing on some of the world’s major international stages: “Dresden Semperoper”, “Staatsoper Berlin”, Opera theaters in Cologne, Bonn and Frankfurt, “Salzburg Festival”, “Regio Theater” in Turin, “Arena Foundation” in Verona, “Bellini Theater” in Catania, “Massimo Theater” in Palermo, “Rossini Theatre” in Pesaro, “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” in Florence, “Opera of Rome”, “The Monnaie” in Brussels, “Teatro Nacional São Carlos” in Lisbon, “Mozart Festival” in La Coruña, “Stadttheater” in Bern, “Opera Tel Aviv”, “Bunka Kaikan” in Tokyo.
CONCERTS – She sang in important venues and Festivals: “I Pomeriggi Musicali”, “Auditorium Verdi” in Milan, “Parco della Musica” in Rome, “Mito Settembre Musica”, “Bayerische Rundfunk”, “Gastaig Hall” in Munich, “Gewandhaus” in Leipzig, “Loggione del Teatro alla Scala”, “EXPO 2015”, “Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk”, “Shanghai Concert Hall”.
ORCHESTRA AND SCENE DIRECTORS – She worked with famous orchestra and scene directors such as: Zubin Metha, Fabio Luisi, Milan Horvat, Zoltan Pesko, Luca Ronconi, Mario Martone, Davide Livermore …
AUDIENCES – She sung in front of huge audiences: 50 thousand spectators at the Opera of Tel Aviv and in the open air concert Memorial Pavarotti, the official concert dedicated to Luciano Pavarotti, in his hometown, Modena, in Italy.
SPECIAL CONCERTS She performed for the Italian Presidents of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and for Pope Giovanni Paolo II and Pope Francesco (concert against slavery).
LANGUAGES – She is the only Italian singer who can sing in 13 languages: Italian, Spanish, German, French, English, Portuguese, Czech, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Aramaic, Ancient Greek.
RECORDINGS – She recorded with DECCA records (Auditorium Verdi in Milan) and with “Parco della Musica Records” (Auditorium in Rome).
DIVULGATOR OF THE ITALIAN CULTURE – In many occasions she was an “ambassadress” for Italian Opera Music abroad, bringing the Italian musical tradition to surprising locations (often for humanitarian purposes in collaboration with international diplomatic entities). Hence, she has staged concerts in India, Africa and Vietnam.
TOURNÉE – She has performed on tours in the main theatres of Japan, such as the “Bunka Kaikan” of Tokyo, and she regularly goes on tour in China.
CHINA – In China she has gained the epithet of “意大利歌剧女王” (The Queen of Italian Opera). She has performed on tour in many of the principal Chinese cities and theatres, including: Suzhou, Guangzhou, “Shanghai City Theatre”, “Shanghai Concert Hall”, Ningbo, Zhuhai, Kunming, Chongqing, Hebei – “Arts Center” in Henan province, “Nanchang Arts Center”, Nanning, “Hangzhou Theater”, “Taicang Grand Theater”, “Dalian Arts Center”, “Jining River Concert Hall”, Taizhou, Jining, Harbin, Jilin, Zhangye, Tianshui, Shan Dong, Yin Chuan, “Taiyuan Nangong Theatre”.
ARS SINGING METHOD – She is the creator of the innovative singing method ARS (“Art of Overcoming Resistance”), presented for the first time in China in 2011 at the “Tongji University of Shanghai”. This method is taught in Milan and in international masterclasses.
ALLORO PROJECT – ARS participates in the Alloro project, an absolutely innovative pilot project that represents a precious Italy-China cultural exchange. Alloro is a collaboration between Italian and Chinese conservatories. Alloro offers a study program that allows Chinese students of singing, but also of other musical disciplines, to be able to receive online musical lessons and be able to prepare for the entrance exams in Italian conservatories honestly, receiving a complete and high-quality linguistic and musical training.
MUSIC CONSULTANT – Colombini is a music consultant and a member of the jury for international festivals and singing competitions. She was a key player for “VINCERÒ”, the first Italian Opera Singing Competition with selections happening in 5 continents. She was in charge of the artistic coordination of the contest and she was also a member of the jury.
