REVIEWS of singers who have followed Silvia Colombini’s Ars Method. 

Meeting Silvia Colombini and her method was for me finding the light after so much darkness.
Silvia transmits her knowledge with great generosity and humanity.
I would define her as a “scholar/researcher of the art of singing”; she has created her own peculiar and highly effective method without standardizing her teaching but applying it in a specific way according to the problems of each student. After much wandering, I finally met a complete teacher who, in addition to taking care of the voice, takes care of the soul of her pupils, encouraging them to believe in themselves and in their qualities.

Knowing her, from the very first lessons, in addition to her professionalism, I was struck by her profound empathy and sensitivity, so that I perceived she would be “my light at the end of the tunnel”. Conny A.

 I had the immense good fortune to meet Silvia Colombini and her infallible method of the Art of Overcoming Resistance by pure chance, in a period where I decided to undertake undertake the study of opera singing, after having studied blues, pop and jazz in past. Despite having studied singing for several years, no teacher has ever managed to extrapolate, with so much effectiveness, all the intrinsic abilities of my voice.
Even before being a mere music teacher, Silvia proved to be a master of maieutic: endowed with a highly refined psychological and musical intuition, she managed to immediately find the origin of all those physical and psychological blocks that prevented the voice and talent from being completely free and fully enjoy. This is exactly what a real teacher should do: encourage, understand, analyze and solve, without limiting herself to a mere theoretical lesson or belittling the student when he fails to achieve immediate results.
I was admitted to the conservatory after only a few months of lessons with her but, alas, I have not found what Silvia has been able to give me throughout our journey together. Lazy teachers, demotivated and anchored to their own vision of the world, can unfortunately be very harmful.
I therefore wish all those who love music and singing to get to know Silvia Colombini. I wish for them to have a teacher who truly loves to teach and does it with passion; I wish them to have a teacher who never stops updating their method and knowledge, so that they are driven by the desire to always give something more to their pupils; I wish them a teacher who treats them as people who have their own history, character and times behind them, and who makes them fall in love with this wonderful art even more. I have had all this, and for this I will always be grateful to Silvia both humanly and professionally. DF

I am an aspiring professional opera singer graduated from the Conservatory and I had the wonderful fortune to meet the Soprano Silvia Colombini in a rather confusing period of my vocal life.
I owe her; clarity and precision are in fact what distinguish her teaching method.
His method “Art of overcome resistance” is functional and embraces any type of needs, both technical and interpretational. After a first lesson where she listens and recognizes what is not working, in the second she already finds the solutions to your problems and helps you, step by step, to apply them.
The most difficult step personally was to dismantle the structures that I didn’t even realize I had by virtue of a free and natural flow, which is what singing should be.
Silvia is patient and determined in explaining, giving advice and transmitting positivity and security, things that should not be underestimated in a teacher.
Only one lesson with her allows you to reap so many “fruits” that change your approach to the art of singing forever. C. A.

Finally, for a few weeks now, following your instructions, I haven’t gotten tired anymore and I don’t lose the first octave after half an hour of singing…
After 20 years of opera choir and two pregnancies, I had actually picked up some “vices”…
As you know in the theater we find ourselves rehearsing Wagner and Monteverdi on the same day, singing every day for hours, and having to sacrifice one’s timbre in favor of section homogeneity.. and all of this, as you can imagine, compresses the voice a bit.
With this new approach I have to say that I have forgotten all those ‘adjustments’ and brain searches, and I am re-tasting the fluidity and brilliance of the emission.

Dear Silvia,
I tried the exercises and I do not know whether to be enthusiastic or depressed! In three lessons, I solved problems that I had been dragging on for years. Damn what a waste of time! They destroyed me. “You have a short voice, you have no high notes”, when I told you, you laughed. I didn’t know if it the crazy one was you or me. Now I understand that the maniacs were my previous teachers. Coming to you choking to take a B and after 3 lessons do an over high E and easy! If they had told me, I would not have believed it. I feel like crying dear Silvia for what you have been able to give to my voice and my spirit and for all the harm, not only vocal, that they have done to me… Ch.

I am a 28 years old amateur singer who wants to improve technique for the pop genre.
Now, I have done four lessons with Silvia, having done a few lessons with other teachers in the past.
From the first moment, I felt very comfortable with Silvia, since her method tries to improve the technique gradually and to tame the voice instead of “suppressing” its imperfections. One learns to accept himself and then improve, unlike other teachers with whom one has a certain “fear” of letting go and making mistakes.
Silvia attributes great importance to all the warm-up and vocalization exercises, which are many and which one then takes home to practice and continuously improve.
Furthermore, Silvia focuses a lot on becoming an artist from the first moment. I have to say that this is the thing I like most about his lessons, where one manages to express himself to the fullest without judgment, which leads to growth and lots of fun.

I met the soprano Colombini in a particular period of psychological fragility, and therefore vocal. A period crossed by illness and death, so by the extinction of vocality, as well as vitality. With her method, which I have just started, and with her supportive approach, I am – I really hope – recovering the “dimension” of my voice and perhaps of many other things. I am a professional singer. After many years of singing, my technique broke down and I needed to fix it. Having little time, I opted for the VOCAL RESET IN THREE LESSONS proposed by SILVIA COLOMBINI with her ARS-C method. I must say that the result was extraordinary. In the first lesson, Silvia identifies everything that is wrong and in the following two, she explains the exercises through which, autonomously, the defects can be corrected. I now sing again effortlessly and much more fluidly than I did a few years ago. If I had to describe Silvia and her teaching method in one word, I would use the word “kaleidoscope”. So many colors, so many possibilities, so many quick results, so much curiosity, so many possible combinations, so much space to ask yourself: “What comes next?” or “What if we did this?” Lots of space to dream and do! And the most important is that, as with the kaleidoscope, the answers arrive, the forms that the voice takes become more and more beautiful one after the other, and the passage from who you are to who you would like to be in singing, is as smooth as when you turn a kaleidoscope, with your head resting on the ground towards the sky, impatient to see the next formation of colors and shapes. Se tivesse que descrever a Silvia numa palavra e o seu método didático, usaria a palavra “caleidoscópio”. Tantas cores, tantas possibilidades, tantos resultados rápidos, tantas curiosidades, tantas combinações possíveis, tanto espaço para perguntar-se: “O que é que vem depois disto?” ou então “E se tentássemos assim?”. Muito espaço para sonhar e para construir! Hi, let me introduce myself, I’m Tatiana, I’m 27 and I started studying singing at the age of 14; my studies are based on a state Conservatory course always supported by various private teachers. I’ve always studied for about a year/2 always with the same teacher and then changed for various personal reasons but this has always allowed me to get the best out of everyone and at a certain point you have the maturity to recognize who manages to pull out the best of you and who helps you grow without causing damage. I feel like openly positive reviewing the Soprano Silvia Colombini with whom I’ve been studying for 5 months because in this very short period of time I was really satisfied because every lesson I bring home the notions I need to study correctly; her technique is primordial both in performing and in learning and is therefore effective! I can only be grateful to Silvia Colombini for the professionalism she demonstrates in teaching singing with her “Art of Overcoming Resistance” method. This method is unique: singing with ease and naturalness. Initially there is a “reset” of the voice, where the student is asked to “dismantle” (if they exist) the superstructures of the voice and sing in a correct and natural way, and I can guarantee that from time to time truly amazing improvements are noticed. Above all, you need to have faith in yourself and in your technique, which in my opinion is the one that finally made me sing freely and correctly, without any effort for the first time.
